Revive is a parent peer-to-peer support group, where parents facing similar challenges can come together to help each other.  Whether you need somewhere to offload the struggles of the week, someone to talk to who understands just how big the breakthrough you’ve just experienced is, or help filling in forms from another parent who’s done them before. You do not need to be referred to us, simply turn up, we’d love to meet you

Who is Revive for?

Revive is a free drop-in space for parents of children with additional needs, whether they are formally diagnosed, you’re “somewhere in the system” or just starting to ask questions about your children’s needs.  We are a safe non-judgmental space for you to relax, meet other parents who are in a similar place to you, finish a hot drink whilst it’s still hot and have the option of breakfast if the morning has not allowed you to do that. We know that you may need to bring children with you and they are welcome to come too.  Whether they’ve yet to start school, are home educated or simply haven’t made it through the school gates that morning, we have a sensory space and playdough!

All children remain the responsibility of their guardian but our team of volunteers are all safeguarding trained.

When does Revive meet?

We meet after the school run on the 1st and 3rd Thursday morning of each month, during term time, in The Corner on Russell St.  Our team of trained volunteers will be ready to welcome you from 9am and we finish at approximately 11am, but you are welcome to arrive late or leave early and stay for as long as you like.

Who runs Revive?

Revive is run by a team of volunteers from Burton Elim Church that from their own experience understand parenting children with additional needs comes with a unique set of challenges.
Our team are all safeguarding trained and those in the kitchen are food hygiene trained.  The kitchen team are able to cater for a range of allergies, please just let them know!  The team is there to help parents connect with each other so that they are able to support each other on the journey.

What is the room like?

We know that it’s not just the children that experience sensory overwhelm.  We meet in a large, light, airy room with no background music.  There are varied seating options in the room and underfloor heating can mean the rugs on the floor can be a lovely choice too!  Hot drinks are served in travel mugs but you’re very welcome to bring your own if you’ve got a favourite.

How do I find you?

Parking is available on site, and in the main church car park opposite The Corner on Moor St.
We meet downstairs and there is disabled lift access from the car park for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
